Erik Carboni is a PhD candidate at the University of Connecticut, having started in the Fall semester of 2011. He has a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rhode Island. His research involves the delivery of drug molecules to cancerous tumors via the use of nanoparticles. He will be focusing on how blood flow affects the diffusion and delivery of these anti-cancer drugs to the tumor site.
